Life Care Centers of America honored Ernie Gonzalez, housekeeping supervisor at Villa Manor Care Center in Lakewood, Colorado, with one of two President’s Awards for its Mountain States Division on Aug. 26, 2019.
The President’s Award recognizes distinguished service in a long-term health care management role. The Mountain States Division includes 31 skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities in Colorado, Wyoming, Utah and Hawaii.
Gonzalez was praised for his 45 years of dedication to the facility and his friendly and kind manner.
Gonzalez has made it a habit to stop and talk to every person he meets. He has gone out of his way to set up drinks, coffee and water before meetings. He has helped grill hamburgers and hot dogs for fundraisers and donated some of his vacation days to an associate in need. He has served as a good leader for his department, leading his team to achieve no deficiencies on many state surveys.
“Ernie has demonstrated professional skill and compassion in dispatching his responsibilities to the associates, residents and families he serves,” said Beecher Hunter, Life Care president. “He has uniquely demonstrated a leadership style for others to emulate. This is a distinguished award to receive because it goes to the heart of our mission.”
Fifteen President’s Awards are presented annually to leaders of overall successful facilities or organizations within Life Care.
